Brake Repair Rochester

AAMCO Brake Repair Rochester TXChanging your brake pads too soon is much better than changing them too late. When you drive around with worn brake pads, you increase the risk of causing damage to the drums and rotors and the risk of experiencing catastrophic brake failure. Fortunately, there are two simple ways to determine whether or not it is time to replace your brake pads:

  • Visually - Take a look at your brake pads. If they are less than 1/4th of an inch thick, they will need to be replaced soon. However, if the pads are less than 1/8th of an inch thick, you will need to bring your vehicle in ASAP to avoid damaging the rotor.
  • Audibly - Pay close attention to the sounds your vehicle makes while driving. For example, if you hear a high-pitched squealing sound when you apply the brakes, your vehicle is overdue for a reline. However, if it sounds more like scraping on metal, the rotors are damaged and you will need to have your brakes repaired immediately to avoid further damage.

Bring your vehicle to AAMCO of Rochester at the first sign of brake trouble to avoid expensive repairs and unsafe driving.

Brake System Service

Your brake system is without question one of the most critical safety features inside your vehicle. Annual inspections and regular maintenance are two of the best ways to ensure that your brake system is always in tip-top shape. AAMCO of Rochester is equipped to examine, repair, and replace all major brake system components, including:

  • Pads/shoes
  • Hydraulic fluids
  • Rotors/drums
  • Calipers and wheel cylinders
  • Brake hardware
  • Hoses and lines
  • Master cylinders
  • Anti-lock systems

If you notice any of the sigs of possible brake failure (squealing or grinding when you apply the brakes, a brake pedal that can be depressed nearly to the floor, a brake warning light that stays lit, etc.), have your brake system check out by an AAMCO-certified technician as soon as possible.
AAMCO Brake System Service includes:

  • A thorough inspection of your vehicle's entire braking system
  • Worn pads and shoes replaced
  • Wheel bearings repacked (as needed)
  • Lubrication for specified components
  • Rotor and drum resurfacing (may need replacement if wear is excessive)
  • Replacement of other components based on findings of inspection
  • Old brake fluid is replaced with fresh fluid
  • Adjust parking brake
  • Road test to ensure the entire braking system is operating properly
